10 Year Anniversary for our Rosy!

We would all like to say a huge congratulations to our Finance Manager Rosy.  She has been with K TWO for an impressive 10 years!

Rosy is the longest serving memeber of the K TWO team and joined our MD, Kerri just a short while after K TWO began. She has many stories to tell us from the early days and can't believe how quickly time has passed and how things have rapidly progressed since then.

Rosy didn't want a fuss made but we couldn't let it go without marking the occasion, so Kerri organised a lovely bouguet of flowers and a bottle of something fizzy!

Here's to the next 10 years Rosy!

K TWO's TV Debut

K TWO were delighted when Anne from Gifts Like These in Ireland featured two of our products on Ireland AM. She was discussing various 'back to school' gifts and products and our School Memories and Family Calendar were both highlighted (see link below for full interview).

Our Family Calendar has been tried and tested and is one of our top sellers, keeping families organised all over the country.  Our School Memories is new this year and has already proved very popular.  It's a lovely gift for a child starting school!

K TWO Out for the Festival!

We are all excited for finishing time today at the K TWO office as we are going on our annual trip out to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Our MD, Kerri, has organised for us all to go out and catch a show and have a few drinks beforehand (and possibly a few after!). We will definitely be consulting and contributing to our Wine Notes!

Edinburgh is just fantastic at this time of year. There are around 3,000 shows including comedy, theatre and dance! We are going for the comedy element as we all like a bit of a giggle, but there is just so much to choose from.

Keeping Healthy at K TWO!

It’s that time of year again…we are either thinking about the fact we are going to be running about in our swim suit on our holidays soon or the fact we have over indulged on the holiday we have just been on! Either way, it is just no fun!

What makes it worse here at K TWO is all the temptations that are in our office! Our Sales Manager Matthew is always coming into the office with some treats from M&S and we just can’t resist them! He has even been nick-named “The Feeder” by some members of the team, so we all had a little giggle when we saw this newspaper article last week .

We have also had a few other things going on in the team as Gill is now back in Production and Angela has left her temporary position, so that means we have had to organise ‘Goodbye’ drinks and ‘Welcome Back’ drinks too. And it doesn’t stop there as we are constantly checking the KTWO Birthday Card Book as there are lots of birthdays coming up too! We better start getting organised!

Does anyone else love M&S choccies as much as us? What are your tips for resisting their yumminess? The K TWO team would love to know!

K TWO back from Harrogate - busy, busy,busy..

K TWO are just back from a very successful Home and Gift show in Harrogate.  Everyone working on the K TWO stand worked really hard and now deserve a well earned break.  

Sarah and the guys in the warehouse are working flat out trying to organise all the deliveries, so their well earned break will need to be put on hold for a little while longer!

We were really pleased to see our new family calendar and home and work diary doing so well.  Our 'back to school' range has also been well received which we are delighted about, especially the School Year Calendar which has been really popular. 

And talking of 'school' - how is everyone coping with the school holidays?  Are you managing to juggle your kids and keep them entertained?  If so we'd love to hear how you do it?

KTWO off to Harrogate!

Everyone in the KTWO office is busy getting organised for the Home and Gift Show in Harrogate this weekend. We’re really excited to show off our new products and to of course meet our lovely customers!

Look out for our fab new Family Calendar, the comeback of the Home & Work Diary and our brand new Magnetic Notepad & Pen.

Now, we have to go and organise our bags…straighteners or no straighteners? Flat shoes or high heels? So many things to be decided!! Maybe KTWO should be designing a ‘Weekend Away’ note book to help us all out?

Goodbye South Africa and the 2010 World Cup!

After taking over our TV screens for the past month, I think we are all missing the World Cup already. We really were enjoying the array of talent on offer in South Africa…as well as the football skills on show!

However, it means that the rivalry surrounding our World Cup sweep is now also over. Yvonne, our domestic cleaning goddess was victorious as predicted, with Sarah and Angela getting the runners up prizes!

Did any of you organise a World Cup sweep with your friends or colleagues? Thanks to Sarah for organising ours!

What are we going to do now it is all over? Take back control of the TV remote for starters…sorry guys! Desperate Housewives, Eastenders and Friends here we come!

We're All Going on a Summer Holiday...

There’s nothing quite like a bit of Sir Cliff Richard to get you in the mood for a holiday!

It’s all go here in the KTWO office, as everyone seems to have been on holiday or is organising a holiday as we speak! Kerri is just back from France and Matt, our Sales Manager, is just back from sunny Spain (no sign of any sangria for his hard working troops though…tut tut!).

Melanie in Sales is off to Greece for some relaxation and Karen is off to her sister’s wedding in Cyprus (thanks to the KTWO Wedding Planner, everything is going to plan, so the bride has nothing to worry about apart from getting a tan!).

Spare a thought for poor Sarah though, whose holiday doesn’t quite compare…Three nights camping in Kinross for T in the Park! Let’s hope she is organised for the inevitable wet weather! Anyone have a spare pair of wellies?

K TWO celebrate a fantastic year....

After what has been a fantastic year at K TWO Kerri, our MD, took us all out to celebrate.  She organised a lunch in a plush, trendy restuarant in George Street (Edinburgh) and had a few bottles of fizz chilling on the table.

We all had a great time, but unfortunately some of us had to come back to the office.  Apologies to any customers who rang that afternoon as I'm pretty sure the fizz went straight to our heads.

We would also like to apologise to Carole as she has somehow managed to escape this photo - she was there and is very much a part of the K TWO team - sorry Carole.

Anyway, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all our customers and look forward to a new and exciting year at K TWO!

World Cup Fever!

The World Cup seems to have taken over the world, quite literally! We are even talking about it in the K TWO Office…

With only one male in our office here at KTWO, I don’t think our sales manager Matt thought he would get any World Cup chat…how wrong could he have been?  We have been in deep discussion about our sadness that Beck’s isn’t playing and we don’t know what we will do if we don’t get to see Posh dressed up to the nines in South Africa! Will the WAG’s even be there? So many questions!

We organised a World Cup sweep stake in the office though, so we do have a slight interest in the actual football that is being played. Our domestic cleaning goddess Yvonne managed to pick out the favourites, Spain but poor Lizzie in design got stuck with New Zealand who are about 2000-1 to win the tournament!

It’s all good fun though, but there are just so many games to keep track of! Perhaps the design team should be working on a World Cup Organiser for 2014…would you buy one for your partner?  What are you planning on doing during the tournament?  And who are you supporting?  We'd love to hear from you.

We love getting Organised!

Getting organised is our catch phrase - it's just what we're about and it does seem to seep into the unconcious of everyone at KTWO eventually! 

In a recent chat in the office someone asked me if (because I do the finances) I love it when I get my numbers to balance - well, yes I do because it saves major grief, but the discussion developed into how orderly and organised are we in other aspects of our lives.  Like the cutlery drawer at home - do you line up your knives, forks and spoons neatly on top of one another?  I wish, and in any case I live in a household where my husband's answer to emptying clean cutlery from the dishwasher is to tip the cutlery holder straight into the drawer unsorted and close it - job done! 

But we all live busy lives and that's why we all love it when someone finds a product which is fun to use, innovative and takes a bit of hassle out of daily life.  We found a couple of great ideas to show you - one from Lakeland for the car and another set of kids labels from Organised Mums which are so cute we thought we'd share them.

Sex and the City

It's here at last!  All of us ladies here at K TWO love Sex and the City and a few of us have already been to see it - Fabulous!

There is quite a bit of chat around the office which is a shame for our Sales Manager, Matthew who is the only man here at K TWO (although we are sure he secretly likes it too).

Let us know if you have been to see it  yet and what your thoughts are?  There have been a few 'not so good' reviews but we love it - especially the outfits.

Roll on Summer!

Oh, what a lovely weekend we have all had basking in the Scottish sunshine. Yes, it was even sunny in Scotland!!

Some of us hit the beach in Portobello, some of us mowed our lawns and I think a few of us might even have managed to sit in a beer garden for an hour or four! It’s safe to say that there are some fairly red faces in the KTWO office today.

It’s back to work now though and we aren’t missing the sun at all!! There is only so much sun, ice cream, BBQ’s and beer that a person can take…….!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine as much as we did! Roll on summer!!

It's Travel Time...We Hope!

Suncream - check. Beach Towels - check. Passport - check. KTWO Travel Journal - check. A flight that isn't going to get cancelled because of the volcanic ash cloud - keep checking!

We're getting very excited about the holiday season here at the KTWO office. If only this ash cloud would go away! Matt in our sales team has already had a trip to London cancelled and Ingrid in design missed out on a break to Sunny Spain! All wasn't lost for Ingrid though, as she still managed to tour Scotland in her campervan. (I do hope she packed our fab Vehicle Document File with the campervan design!)

This week we've got our fingers crossed for Kerri and Karen who are off to New York and Spain. Karen in particular seemed distraught at the thought of getting stuck in the sun. "Imagine having an extra few days to drink cocktails and top up my tan...that's the last thing I would want!".

Have any of you suffered as a result of the ash cloud? Where are you planning on going this year? Please do share your stories and plans, as they will keep us entertained and they might even give our boss some ideas for the location of the summer office party!

New Arrivals at K TWO ...

After a slight delay in arriving, our new products are finally here!  We are really excited about our new Recipe File, and our warehouse no sooner had them delivered when they were packing orders to go straight  back out.  We are positive that this will continue the success we had with our previous cupcake design.

Our 'Back to School' range has also arrived and we have been overwhelmed by customers, who have used the School Year Calendar in previous years, calling us to re-order the new one already.  Once you start using this calendar it would be difficult to live without it (so our customers are telling us).  The School Memories File is a new product for us, but we think it will be an ideal 'first day at school' gift for a child, their parents or grandparents.  You can record friends names, teachers names, favourite subjects and activities, achievements and awards as well as clubs you may join.  There is ample space for photos, and handy pockets to store report cards, certificates or favourite pieces of work .

Visit to Oxford Street

Melanie, our resident trend watcher and shopaholic went to London yesterday to attend a trade show and managed to make time to pop into Oxford Street to look at the trends on the High Street.  She was most impressed by the window displays at Selfridges and John Lewis - take a look at what she found.

She found a lot of 'Celebration of Britain' products and quite a bit of vintage (50's) styles.  Her head is now buzzing with new product ideas for K TWO - watch this space!
